[JessFinds] Reinvention Intervention Convention

The other night I put on Miss Crab's black cat ear headband. It is fuzzy and soft and I forgot it was there. Then I would catch my reflection and laugh (it made an awesome shadow silhouette). This may be the answer to many world problems. Put on cat ears and laugh at yourself. The adults in my household could not keep a straight face while talking with me. Good stuff.

I am in need of a reinvention. Where is Madonna when I need her? I am closing up one chapter of The Life of Jess by wrapping up my writing and communications duties. Many of which will wrap up at the end of this month. I am not sure what my next step is. Part of me wants to go back to school (because I have a deep love of tons of debt) and part of me wants to try on a new hat entirely. I would like to do something that still allows me to be available to my kids. I have managed to remain "relevant" while raising my girls thus far, but I am not sure what that really means. I just know I was fearful of the gap years - the ones where women completely give up their earning potential to be mothers and then find out that they are dinosaurs when they attempt to go back to the workforce. Scary. I started out working in one of those dinosaur graveyards when I was first out of college, the place was filled with once-was and has-been.

I need brainstorming and inspiration and probably a wealthy boyfriend who thinks my mid-30's crisis is "cute." Preacher supports me finding a wealthy side order. We swing like that. Now I only need to find one who digs mom's carrying extra weight AND looks like Sawyer from LOST. Growl.

Um, I have been typing this with Yo Gabba Gabba on in the background and it is completely entrancing. It reminds me of Dee-Lite. 1993. College. My old roommate Angie and I would watch this show if it were on back then.

Good luck to finding your bliss and receiving a fair wage and benefits. Does this mean you are not going to do the freelance stuff you were thinking about with parishes?

BTW: if you are interested I've got some of that work for you and I am in no real hurry. Let's talk. I'll make the funding happen, somehow.
