So, we went to the ENT today... and in good news, squirrels hear just fine. She doesn't hear "perfectly" but she is in the high end of the range, and the specialist has no current concerns about hearing loss or her ability to learn language skills.
This despite the fact that her ear drums apparently don't move. At all. Still has fluid in both ears. Currently not infected. (yippee!) And he wants to see us again in 6 weeks. I have a feeling this will be ongoing. They actually ran the ear drum test 3 or 4 times after the hearing test. The audiologist was not convinced the test was working correctly since her hearing was so good.
As long as her hearing is OK, neither the Lawyer or I are inclined to go with tubes or other surgery unless the infections run out of control, so I think we will be having a lot of ear check ups.
In general? Hearing tests on little kids are funny. She looked very puzzled the whole time.
