Yea! I was up waaaay too late last night watching CNN. The Clinton thing is interesting, Concede already will ya? I think she is positioning for VP. I am not sure how I feel about that yet. I mean, it would be a glorious ticket as far as a political machine goes but I still feel she is disingenuous and that they really don't actually like each other, no matter how gracious Obama has been in his last few speeches. Plus, that would put a former President back in the White House sphere of influence and I am not sure how I feel about that either.
I am curious who McCain will pick as a running mate. It is going to be a really interesting political season. The two candidates could not be more different yet both are incredibly intelligent, thoughtful and capable. I just hope it does not decelerate in to mud slinging and they can stay focused on the issues. I don't care for the branding of McCain as Dubyuh's 3rd term and I don't care to see thinly veiled racist emails sent in the name of "disclosing Obama's "true" agenda. Both are crap. But issues, issues are good. Issues can be debated intelligently.
Let's see talk of how we are going to:
(a) save face in the greater world and get out of this isolationist bunker we have shut ourselves in to. We need to stop stomping, bullying and slamming doors and start listening. And ...
(b) how we are going to deal with the health care crisis. It is an embarrassment that the World Health Organization ranks us 37th on a list of 191 countries in quality of health care. We are not even in the top ten. The richest country in the world and we have 54.5 million people uninsured. And those that are insured are still getting screwed. How we treat our young and our elderly is just wrong.
(c) get ourselves out of Iraq, but in a way that will not further damage that country's delicate infrastructure. And....
(d) get off oil and protect the environment so my kids won't inherit a global disaster that can not be reversed.
Can I get an Amen!?!
