(JessFinds) Whoops - a missed plane.

CONGRATULATIONS RACHEL & SHAWN!
Perry May joined our greater familiy on May 19th at 4:55 PM
6lbs, 6oz and 19 inches long. Healthy, beautiful little girl!!

I have been having so much fun in Oregon I almost missed a flight. No joke. Preacher called me and said he was looking forward to picking me up "tomorrow" to which I replied "no, no - you mean on Wednesday." Whoops. I totally miscalculated! I called the airline and fixed the problem and I am indeed leaving tonight on the red-eye with Baby Gonzo (who has been the most amazing traveling companion ever).

I got so caught up in Rachel having the baby ... and I was NOT going to miss that! I hit my trifecta - Mick's birthday, Mom's gallery opening and Perry being born. My big reasons for being out here! Oh and the coffee. Awesome coffee. I have been drinking leaded and not sleeping well at night at all!

I have missed Miss Crab terribly. It makes me ache. At the same time, I wish I did not ever need to leave Oregon. I love it here. Even with the gang shootings and the tweakers. It is just a lovely state! Maybe we could live in Bend (I know Bend has tweakers but does it have gang activity?).

Spent time with Marie and Super Squirrel too. Much needed. Squirrel is so incredibly cute and such a personality! It was fun watching Baby Gonzo follow her around the house, curious.
I don't wanna go home. My girls all have girls. It is fun. Waaaaah! Meh.

My mom's gallery is over-the-top fabulous. I can not believe that space went from dirty garage to amazing retail in such a short time. I think her store alone has tripled the property value for that block. Over 250 people showed up to the grand opening - it was wall to wall. They had a great opening night.

Obama had the biggest political rally to date while I was here - something like 75,000 people decended on the Portland waterfront ... and of course I missed it. It was too hot for a baby to be out in the direct sun (we were in the 90's most of the week). The energy was great though and it looks like he is going to "take" Oregon. He is very popular here which should not be too suprising as it is a mostly progressive state. It is nice to see people out and caring so much about the future of their government - I imagine they will have record ballot turnout as well. I think Oregon is not a winner-take-all delegate state though.

I am so lame... I still haven't posted. It was fabulous to have Jesse and Baby Gonzo out here. We got to spend som great tiem together on Saturday and Sunday, just the Lawyer, Squirrel, Jess and Gonzo, nice and laid back. It was good to see our girls hang out. They are so close in age but are in such different stages. Gonzo definitely has a bigger vocabulary, but Squirrel is way more outgoing. Very funny. They were so sweet together. Very curious about each other.
