[JessFinds] Babies for Breakfast ... Fie Fi Fo Fum!
Oven Pancakes (Dutch Babies)
From Better Homes & Gardens New Cook Book
- 2 T butter
- 3 eggs
- 1/2 C milk
- 1/2 C flour
- 1/4 t. salt
Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Put butter in baking dish (I used a cake pan) and heat in oven 3-5 minutes, til butter is melted.
Beat eggs. Add milk, flour and salt. Beat til smooth. Pour immediately into baking dish. Bake 20-25 minutes, or until puffy edges and looks done in center.
I would serve with lemon slices and powdered sugar. My girls wanted syrup. Preacher went for honey.
We had a big thunderstorm this morning and for some reason, it just seemed like a good idea to do a big puffed pancake! I found this recipe from one of my favorite blogs - This Week for Dinner.
With roast drippings, this would be a really good Yorkshire Pudding. Except I don't eat roasts anymore... still. It would be good!
