[JessFinds] Lake Gates

Unbeknownst to my husband, he is channeling my late great-grandfather Watson by building a pond feature with waterfall in our backyard. I think my grandfather would love that I married such a guy. According to my mom, he had some pretty spectacular water feature "pond projects" himself. Preacher has added this waterfall as "stage III" of the pond project - testing to see that there is not a lot of water loss (stage II was not very successful and we don't want to waste water). In New England you absolutely have to keep the water moving or else you start a mosquito breeding program and your neighbors hate you.

Here are the Pond Comets. They are like Koi only not so expensive to maintain or purchase should the experiment go awry (I'm just sayin'...). I think we have six of them. Bright orange and white. The lily pads are growing well too.

And RIP our little fuzzy chipmunk friend who committed suicide in the pond two days ago. We are still not sure if it is really, really gross or really, really funny.
