(JessFinds) A pharmaceutical solution

I pretty much stormed my docs office yesterday. I am now on pain meds (woohoo!) and thyroid medication. He took one look at me and said "oh, you poor thing" without any sarcasm or malice and I almost started crying! I am just hurting from head to toe. There was some sort of mix-up where my treating doctor did not realize it was going to take 5 months to get in to see a specialist. It was so nice to have someone take me seriously, review the information with me and design a long-term plan. I still need to meet with an Endocrinologist but at least the path towards feeling better has begun. He said I should start to feel better in about 3-4 weeks and I should feel like a totally different person in about 6 months.

I have been barely keeping it together. My body is creaking like I am 104 instead of 34.  My joints are all swollen and crunchy. It is just crappy.

I have given fair warning to all of my family and friends - when I come to visit in a few weeks nobody is allowed to gasp in horror or make any weight comments. My face and neck are puffed up to the point that it looks like I am a no-neck. It may take a few months for it to reduce. Same with my legs and joints. So I am going with the chunky girl look. Unkay? Not fighting it right now. The meds will work their magic and I should be back to normal within the year.

Yesterday, Preacher took a spill off of the stairs that lead to our shed. He twisted his ankle and torqued his back. So we are both acting like grumpy curmudgeons.

So glad you made some progress with the docs. Ridiculous. No comments about your looks...never would, especially since I am very swollen myself, ha! I love you just the way you are! xo-Rachel
